Just figured we’d throw this up there as a reminder of yes – the good old days- when things like Werewolf’s were truly piss-your-pants terrifying and not some CGI construct with’ issues’ and ‘feelings’ who would probably be happier on a psychoanalyst’s couch. Isn’t that what true horror is about? Getting the living crap scared out of us?
John Landis’ groundbreaking 1981 movie ‘American Werewolf in London’ still passes that test today with flying colors, most of which are in this case, various shades of crimson. Combing twisted humor with savage violence, it was arguably the first horror movie that had us alternately laughing and screaming from start to finish, accompanied by a variety pack of catchy ‘moon’ themed songs like ‘Blue Moon’, ‘Moon Dance’ & ‘Bad Moon Rising’. If you haven’t seen this horror classic already then get to it!
